Dr. N shed some clarity on what we're trying to accomplish with current chemotherapy at my appointment on Friday. Often, I'm too ? (what am I?) to ask the questions, I just say "ok" and shove the prescription in my pocket. After three rounds of chemo (two weeks on Death-in-a-bottle, one off--that's a round) there will be a new PET/CAT scan. If I'm stable or improving, we'll go three more rounds. If things are worse, we'll stop and adjust to symptosomatic treatments. My body is hanging in there, with amazingly good blood counts and strength to fight. Dr. N. is pleased. Dr. N. walks and talks super, super fast. He looks directly into my eyes and on through. He tells me that I look great, even after a day at Kindergarten in the recess wind. "Don't EVER bring up to me that you're fat--your body is in battle for your LIFE!" "Yes sir (very small writing)" There is something so comforting about oncology. I come out of there feeling like a WARRIOR.
