Our family loves movie quotes! My kids are especially good at pulling lines from everywhere to punctuate our family gatherings with humor. This morning, I have a song quote dancing through my mind, one from the Broadway play "Into The Woods", but it's not funny. It's the witch, waxing profound, as she sings, "It's the last midnight...it's the last wish!", as the characters in the play com face to face with their ultimate consequences. Tonight I take my last pills in this three-round series of chemotherapy. Next Friday I'll have a new PET/CAT scan that will determine its success. If cancer is still contained--if the spot on my lung is gone, or unchanged--I'll have three more rounds of chemo. If the x-rays are all a-sparkle with new cancer growth, then there will be no more chemo. Tuesday, October 5th, Dr. N will share the results with me. Dr. N is very matter-of-fact. He won't have the butterflies in his stomach from saying the words, that I will be experiencing, hearing them. In this case, the good news will be the bad news! More chemo will be hard, but it is the gift. "It's the last midnight, soon it will be BOOM, SPLAT!"

Here's hoping for gone or unchanged! I want it so bad for you!
You are never far from our thoughts, and always in our prayers. We are hoping for nothing but good news on the 5th!
