Good, Not So Good

Last Thursday's review of my newest PET/CT scan revealed some good things. All of the former surgery sites are still bright and active. But that is to be expected because there's healing going on in those areas. When compared to the post surgery scan from June, there is nothing new. Last time, there was an "inconclusive" spot on my right lung, not quite a centimeter big. This time, there's no evidence of that spot. (This is me, breathing a sigh or relief for that outcome!) But, concerning to my oncologist are two enlarged lymph nodes in my LEFT armpit, shining like the sun for no apparent reason. Bad news. I'll have another core biopsy on Monday to determine if there's any cancer activity in those nodes. At that point,if there is no new cancer present, I'll resume oral chemotherapy for another three rounds (two weeks on meds, one week rest, three times), or we'll develop a Plan B to address the new cancer. Entirely relieving? No. Better cross fingers for Monday.
