Alternative Drinking

While driving my granddaughter to a haircut yesterday, I was reminded that this weekend is officially "chemofry", by another surprising and rather extraordinary display involving blood. Disturbing! But a few good, good people doing super nice things helped me put the blood experience aside. I'm armed now with books, flowers, fluids, visits, photos and kind words of encouragement. I'm experimenting with alternatives to water, since (who knew?) I seem to be resistant to inhaling liquid that taste like rust. I've had Jamba Juice, V-8, ginger ale, weight-loss shake, grape juice, instant breakfast, tomato soup, strawberry milk, and creme soda. As long as I don't try to visualize all this being down there at the SAME TIME, I think I may be keeping ahead of the game. And...if getting me up three times to the potty in the night is goal, then count "alternative drinking" as a success!

I so admire you and YES, you do have courage! I can't even pretend to grasp what you are going through but I applaud your courage :-)

Hang in there through another chemofry.

I think you are so great to let us all in on your experience! I know I would not be able to share my thoughts as openly, but I am so glad you have!! I can't imagine what you personally are going through, but I know it SUCKS!!!!!Good luck with your chemo this week. We'll be thinking of you. =)
