Burning

I slept like a rock until 4:00 am when I woke feeling like my tummy was self-destructing from chemoburn. I have a new turbo-antacid medication that is supposed to be taken with breakfast, so 4 a.m. suddenly became breakfast time! The med is to be taken for fourteen days, then never again for four months? FOUR MONTHS? What is this stuff? I swallowed it anyway, desperate. Chased it down with a bowl of frosted Cheerios, an overripe banana, dry toast and a 6 oz. OJ. Uck. Everything tasted awful. Back in bed, I laid in the dark for 4 1/2 hours, "resting", waiting for action. Nothing. Guzzling tea at 8:30, I read on the box that this antacid can take 24 hours to four days to work! A person could be DEAD by then!!! To the rescue...St. Blake, who headed straight to Holiday Oil for Rolaids--the old standby. Now, new bone pain aside (thank you Neulasta shot) I'm feeling nearly human again, hoping to get through today without being too much more expensive, too cold, too ugly, too lazy, too useless, too rebellious, too sensitive, to stinky or sweaty...did I leave anything out?

How about too patient (you did lay in the dark for 4 1/2 hours waiting for things to get better!) or too determined (at least you are trying to not be too expensive, too cold, etc.) and too obedient (you ate breakfast at 4 in the morning even though it tasted awful). What a woman!!!
