Little Things

I woke up today with a throbbing pinkie finger, so I took off my nail polish to assess damage. I'd already cut my nails down on Sunday, hoping to dry out the belly button impersonator. Sure enough, nail beds are dying all over the world! I slapped more antibiotic ointment on each finger, only vaguely aware that it would all be for nothing since I'd be washing my hands over and over and over and over and over and over and over all day long. But hey, I feel GREAT! Food tastes good and work feels good. I got to vacuum my own house! Who thought I'd ever look forward to that chore? I'm trucking through my kindergarten file project like a regular human. I cleaned the bunny cage! (Can you say "germs" with me?) I even made pancakes for breakfast. I can't remember the last time I actually cooked. Walks feel good and sleep feels good. I may offer to tend my grandchildren! I've taken so much for granted in my life. It's nice to be alive to the little things. I think they add up to the big thing, and I want the big thing for a whole lot longer.

I'm so happy you are feeling well! Maybe if you just paint your skin where the nails used to be no one will notice???? :)
